Airtel digital TV voted favourite DTH service in key metros in customer satisfaction survey on India
Bangalore, Wednesday, August 25, 2010 -Airtel digital TV – the DTH service from Bharti Airtel – has been voted the favourite DTH service by customers in key metros in a nationwide customer satisfaction survey by MARS on India’s Favourite DTH Operator.
Airtel digital TV adds 5 channels to bouquet
MUMBAI: Airtel digital TV, the direct-to-home (DTH) service from Bharti Airtel, has added five new channels to its bouquet, taking its total tally to 215. The new channels include PTC Chakde (Punjabi music), Zee 24 Taas (Marathi news), Saam TV (Marathi general entertainment), Zee Chattisgarh (Hindi news) and Zee Classic (Hindi movie).

The Hindustan Times-MaRS consumer satisfaction survey on ‘India’s favourite DTH Operators’ reveals that the Indian consumer knows her mind, and direct-to-home satellite television providers will have to work extra hard to ensure that customers don’t switch loyalty to smarter rivals.

Airtel digital TV to premiere The Twilight Saga
MUMBAI: As part of its pay- per- view (PPV) portfolio, Airtel digital TV has announced the TV premiere of the Hollywood blockbuster, The Twilight Saga: New Moon. The film, adapted from the best selling novel of the same name by Stephenie Meyer, brings together Robert Pattinson and Kirsten Stewart for the second time after Twilight.
Come Sept, pick and choose DTH channels
Come September and subscribers of DTH services would be able to pick and choose the channels they want to watch but have to pay a minimum of Rs 150 per month for a bouquet of channels of their choice. In its tariff order for 2010, broadcast regulator TRAI also included provisions to protect the consumers from rise in rates, like no increase in subscription charges in the first six months of enrolling.
