Reliance Big TV adds Ten Cricket, Ten Action to bouquet
MUMBAI: Coinciding with the India-South Africa cricket series, Reliance Big TV has added Ten Cricket and Ten Action to its DTH offering. Subscribers who have opted for the Jumbo Sports Pack will not have to pay anything extra for the two channels. However, other subscribers have to pay Rs 25 each (plus taxes) for the two channels. India’s festival season sees DTH numbers rocket
Almost two million people signed up for direct-to-home (DTH) TV packages in India during October, with strong take up spilling over in to November – thanks to the festival season and the tempting deals on offer. This is almost double the monthly subscriber add-on rate recorded in the first half of 2010 by the country’s six DTH operators, according to Business Standard. Dish TV added 355,000 subscribers in October and a similar number in the first half of November – having an incremental share of 40% of the market in the first week of November, according to Indian Television. Festive season brings cheer to DTH firms
The festive season lit up sales numbers of direct-to home (DTH) television service providers, with nearly two million subscribers added in a month. This is nearly double the number of monthly acquisitions recorded in the six-operator sector in the first half of the year. “October has been a bumper month.
