MUMBAI: The Indian pay TV market, which at present stands at Rs 240 billion, has huge growth potential as it is underpenetrated and the ARPU (average revenue per user) is very low. Govt plans to raise FDI cap in DTH, IPTV and FM

NEW DELHI: The information and broadcasting ministry has proposed to increase foreign direct investment limit across media platforms — in direct-to home, internet protocol TV (IPTV), multi-system operators and FM radio — to bring in consistency, according to sources. The FDI in DTH, IPTV and MSO is likely to be raised from 49% to 74%, while the investment in FM radio will be increased from 20% to 26%. MUMBAI: Sameer Manchanda-promoted Den Networks will continue to grow in size this year, building up a revenue nest of Rs 11.50 billion as it consolidates its subsidiaries. NEW DELHI: Indian Cable TV MSOs operators had better watch out. The Government has once again reminded all state governments and union territories to ensure strict compliance with its mandate for carrying Doordarshan and Parliament channels on cable TV networks and DTH services.
