Airtel Digital TV adds Star Cricket HD and ESPN HD

Airtel Digital TV, the DTH service from Bharti Airtel, had added ‘ESPN HD’ and ‘Star Cricket HD’ to its Real HD portfolio. With this Airtel digital TV has augmented its Real HD channel count to 14 – the highest in India and total channel count to 275 that include 242 Standard Definition (SD) channels and 14 High Definition (HD) channels. Tata Sky partners Ericsson to offer on-demand, catch-up TV

New Delhi: Sweden’s telecom and media equipment maker Ericsson today said it has supplied Tata Sky with an advanced TV system, which will help viewers watch on-demand and catch-up TV. The deployment is one of the first in the world to be based on Ericsson’s Media Delivery Network (MDN), a media-centric solution for the distribution, delivery and content management, Ericsson said in a statement. Airtel digital TV-the DTH service from Bharti Airtel, today announced that it has added 15 more channels over the last 3 months taking, its Total Channel Count to 262. MUMBAI: India will have 1.2 million HD subscribers on DTH by the end of this fiscal, industry experts said here today. Pricing is a sticky issue but aggressive marketing will push the demand for HD channels. History TV18 added on Dish TV in Standard and High Definition formats

India’s first DTH service provider Dish TV, yesterday added test signals of “History TV18″ the factual entertainment channel from the JV between AETN and TV18, which is going to be launched on 9th October. History TV18 has been added on Dish TV on channel number 470 in Standard Definition and on channel number 56 in High definition. History TV18 channel will be available in 6 languages. Presently, it is available in five languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali and Marathi except English. The price of this channel and its availability on each basic packages is still not announced.
