Bharti Airtel ups stake in DTH arm to 95%

MUMBAI: Bharti Airtel has increased its stake in Bharti Telemedia, the subsidiary company that holds the DTH, broadband, wireline and IPTV businesses. Bharti Airtel, which earlier was holding 40 per cent in Telemedia, has now upped its stake to 95 per cent. Bharti Airtel has bought back the stake from Bharti Enterprises for Rs 74 million. Airtel Digital TV, the brand of the DTH service, has close to three million subscribers.
