NEW DELHI: Direct to home (DTH) service provider Dish TV India Ltd is focusing on new customer acquisition, high definition technology and digitisation to strengthen its position in the highly competitive DTH market. “In the next one year, our agenda for growth is to acquire new customers and take the benefit of digitisation,” Dish TV Managing Director Jawahar Goel told PTI. HD subscriber base to double; touch 2.5 lakh in FY’12: Dish TV
NEW DELHI: With more high definition (HD) channels being launched in the country, DTH major Dish TV is betting big on this platform and expects its HD subscriber base to double this fiscal to 2.5 lakh. “When we launched last year, HD was just coming in. History TV18 added on Dish TV in Standard and High Definition formats
India’s first DTH service provider Dish TV, yesterday added test signals of “History TV18″ the factual entertainment channel from the JV between AETN and TV18, which is going to be launched on 9th October. History TV18 has been added on Dish TV on channel number 470 in Standard Definition and on channel number 56 in High definition. History TV18 channel will be available in 6 languages. Indian DTH firms bet on premium services, but cost a worry
The Indian Direct-to-home (DTH) broadcast market is witnessing a flood of premium and add-on services like HD (high definition) and gaming features, but cost remains a stumbling block in efforts to woo customers, industry players say.
