NEW DELHI: As the Indian DTH turf heats up, marketers in the fray are leaning on top Bollywood stars to help their cause. The 20-million subscribers strong Indian DTH market has six major players—Dish TV, Tata Sky, Sun Direct, Reliance Big TV, Airtel Digital and Videocon D2H. And four of them have a bollywood star endorsing them. The Videocon group is getting ready to splurge on its DTH venture with a Rs 100-crore campaign featuring actor Abhishek Bachchan as the brand ambassador. Videocon d2h, the DTH brand of the group, has gone national with its services under a new company, Bharat Business Channel. Speaking to Business Line, Mr Anil Khera, CEO, of the channel, said, “Abhishek has a clean image and will be recognised in the western, eastern and northern markets.
