Technicolor bags Tata Sky contract for supply of HD STBs
MUMBAI: Technicolor India has reached the milestone of supplying five million set-top boxes (STBs) to Tata Sky, the DTH operator with 6.5 million subscribers. Technicolor has bagged a fresh contract from DTH operator Tata Sky for the supply of High Definition (HD) set-top boxes. This important win comes in addition to a contract signed in 2011 for the supply of Standard Definition MPEG4 set-top boxes. The shipment will start later this year. MUMBAI: Creative agency Ogilvy and Mather’s Mumbai team has created the latest TVC for DTH provider Tata Sky. The commercial is based on the insight that the value of quality service has been lost and that consumers have the right to get prompt and proper services on purchase. ETC Punjabi on Tata Sky Channel No.885
MUMBAI: ETC Punjabi, the Punjabi regional entertainment channel of Zee Network has associated with DTH operator Tata Sky that reaches out to millions of households across the country. From today, the Punjabi channel would be available on channel No. 885 becoming an integral part of Punjabi regional channel cluster currently existing on the DTH operator. The channel can be viewed in Punjabi regional pack, mega pack and mega lite pack for new and existing subscribers. Tata Sky gearing up to meet demand post-digitisation
Direct-to-Home (DTH) broadcaster Tata Sky is gearing up to meet the demand for new connections that would come up from the four metros following digitisation of cable TV networks from July 1. Households in the four metros – Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata – will have to switch to digital TV before June 30 as the Information and Broadcasting Ministry has mandated nationwide cable digitisation as recommended by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Comedy Central now available on Tata Sky
MUMBAI: Direct-to-home (DTH) services provider Tata Sky has added English comedy channel, Comedy Central, on its platform. Comedy Central, the latest channel from the Viacom18 stable, will be available on channel no 218 on Tata Sky platform in its English Entertainment pack. Priced at Rs 50 per month, the English Entertainment pack has nine more channels- AXN, BBC Entertainment, Discovery Turbo, Fox Crime, FX, NDTV Good Times, Star World, TLC and Zee Café. Tata Sky partners Ericsson to offer on-demand, catch-up TV
New Delhi: Sweden’s telecom and media equipment maker Ericsson today said it has supplied Tata Sky with an advanced TV system, which will help viewers watch on-demand and catch-up TV. The deployment is one of the first in the world to be based on Ericsson’s Media Delivery Network (MDN), a media-centric solution for the distribution, delivery and content management, Ericsson said in a statement.
