MUMBAI: Airtel Digital TV, the DTH service from Bharti Airtel, has launched a new interactive educational service for kids, iKidsworld.

The service expands the interactive bouquet offering of Airtel Digital TV and engages kids at every step.

The user interface is designed to make learning enjoyable for the kids, the company said.

The video content of iKidsworld offers activities like stories, hobbies, songs, rhymes, math puzzles, science facts and quizzes.

Powered by Fundoodaa, the content of iKidsworld is designed to enhance a child’s knowledge, pique their curiosity, challenge their thinking and at the same time have an entertainment quotient.

Bharti Airtel CEO DTH/Media Shashi Arora said, “Our objective was to blend the best of television with interactivity and engagement that children seek from the internet. In line with this, we are delighted to launch –iKidsworld, an interactive educational service. We aim to enhance the learning experience of the kids by converting passive television viewing experience to a more active and participative viewing. The interactive user interface has been specifically designed to appeal to today’s kids – who are exposed to multiple cartoon channels content.”

Existing Airtel digital TV subscribers can subscribe for iKidsworld at Rs 30 per month + taxes.

With iKidsworld, Airtel Digital TV now has seven interactive applications as part of its interactive services portfolio- iRadio, iLearn, iDarshan, iGoodlife, iAstro and Parsifal.

Airtel Digital TV, the DTH service from Bharti Airtel, had added ‘ESPN HD’ and ‘Star Cricket HD’ to its Real HD portfolio. With this Airtel digital TV has augmented its Real HD channel count to 14 – the highest in India and total channel count to 275 that include 242 Standard Definition (SD) channels and 14 High Definition (HD) channels. The addition is consistent with Airtel digital TV’s promise of enriching the experience of its customers across India with a strikingly superior quality, audio-video experience.

The new channels ‘ESPN HD’ and ‘Star Cricket HD’ will be available to all the customers on channel No. 220 and 221 respectively. ‘Ten HD’ available at Channel No. 223 will be a part of ala carte HD top up priced at INR 34 inclusive tax each per month whereas ‘ESPN HD’ and ‘Star Cricket HD’ will be available at INR 40 each or at a combo pack of INR 55 per month.

Ten HD, a 24hr sports channel, is now available on Airtel Digital TV.

With the addition of Ten HD, the full time True HD channels count goes to 12.

The 12 full time Tru HD channels are CNBC TV18 Prime HD, Colors HD, Discovery HD World, History TV18 HD, Movies Now HD, Nat Geo HD, Star Gold HD, Star Movies HD, Star Plus HD, Star World HD, Ten HD and UTV Stars HD.

The channel is part of Magnum HD Standard Pack & Magnum HD Treat Standard Pack. The A-La-Carte Price is Rs.34 per month.

Airtel digital TV, the direct-to-home (DTH) service by telecom major Bharti Airtel, has launched iRadio – a 24/7 entertainment application that has 21 radio channels available to all its customers, at no additional cost.

The 21 audio channels on iRadio include FM Gold, FM Gold Mumbai, FM Rainbow, FM Rainbow Bangalore, FM Rainbow Chennai, Radio Kashmir, Gyanvani Radio, AIR Hindi, AIR Punjabi, AIR Tamil, AIR Telugu, AIR Bangla, AIR Gujarati, AIR Urdu, AIR Marathi, AIR Kannada, AIR Oriya, AIR Malayalam, AIR Assamese, AIR Ragam, and AIR North-East.

iRadio is yet another compelling reiteration of DTH’s clear advantage over analogue systems in offering unique non-channel content across genres like education, music, movies, farming and lifestyle, according to the firm.

iRadio is now available along with the other five offering iFasal(provides farmers a real time access to crop prices, prevalent agri-input prices of say seeds, pesticides, weather information and localized farming advisory in Hindi), iGoodlife (provides content on lifestyle, cooking, health, home and family), iDarshan (showcases live aartis every morning and evening, devotional songs, debates, discussions, pravachans, satsangs, discourses, travel episodes from shrines across the country and pilgrimage information, at your home), iLearn (interactive and fun tutorial for children ranging from classes 1 to 5) and iAstro (provides detailed forecast for the day – both as per astrology and numerology).

Airtel digital TV, that launched its services in October 2008, has over 6.8 million customers and is one of the half dozen DTH service operators in the country.

CHENNAI: Airtel digital TV — the DTH service from Bharti Airtel announced that its customers can now also have the entire Programme Guide in Tamil. The Airtel digital TV Programme Guide also has two other language options, English and Hindi.

The initiative makes Airtel digital TV the first ever DTH operator worldwide, to have a complete three language Programme Guide. The initiative is part of Airtel digital TV’s endeavour to create greater affinity for brand Airtel by introducing services and features that incorporate customer preferences across genres and regions.

Airtel digital TV, the DTH service of Bharti Airtel today announced that it has entered an agreement with leading kids and family producer Cookie Jar Entertainment to bring its powerful library to Airtel digital consumers beginning immediately. The first series to launch this new venture will be the number one boys show in America this past summer, “Johnny Test” Having had a successful run of 5 seasons, the series will be available to Airtel digital TV customers on Channel no 158.

With this, Airtel digital TV becomes the First DTH operator to offer screenings of globally hit and award winning animated television series on its Pay per View platform. Adding to Airtel digital TV’s varied portfolio of content offerings, the initiative is sure to capture the hearts of young viewers.

Customers can sit back and enjoy the series on Airtel digital TV’s Pay per View Channel 158 that would be free until Sep 27, 2011 and priced at INR 25/month thereafter. The successful animated television currently airs on the Cartoon Networks around the world.
