Recently-listed cable companies failed to fire up investor interest in them or the industry. These companies — Den Networks and Hathway Cable and Datacom — have disappointed their investors with poor listing gains below average hardly showered investors with good returns. New Delhi: It’s not a fight for subscribers alone; the intense rivalry in the direct-to-home (DTH) space has now spilled over to the trade mark arena. Subhash Chandra’s DTH arm Dish TV has objected to Anil Ambani’s Reliance-ADAG applying for trademark registration of its DTH service (Big TV) as “Big Dish TV” and “Reliance Dish TV”. According to sources, recently ADAG applied for the registration of “Big Dish TV” to the office of the trade mark registry in Mumbai. NEW DELHI: Even as Prasar Bharati has announced plans to start beaming in High Definition by the time of the Commonwealth Games in October this year, major private DTH players like Dish TV, Tata Sky and Airtel Digital TV said they would be launching HD services within the next couple of months. Airtel Digital, Dish TV to launch HD service this year

NEW DELHI: DTH operators Airtel Digital and Dish TV on Monday said they will launch their high definition (HD) services this year, in time for the Commonwealth Games.
