New Delhi, Nov 11 (PTI) FM radio operators today said issues like obtaining approval for news broadcasting and raising FDI limits in the sector will be discussed with the government officials and stakeholders at a one-day conference – Vision 2010- here tomorrow.

The conference will be inaugurated by Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni.

The industry is keenly awaiting the phase III of the radio licensing policy and the players expect new policy opened doors in many ways.

“The radio industry expects the new policy to address issues like raising the FDI cap, allowing multiple licences and multi-city networking and clearing news broadcasts in limited formats, for which we have been in constant dialogue with the government,” Radio City CEO and Association of Radio Operators for India (AROI) President Apurva Purohit told PTI.

At least 200-500 frequencies, many in small towns, are open for auction in Phase-III.
