Responding to request from several stakeholders to extend the time limit for submission of information on the tariff issues for Cable TV, the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has granted an extension till September 22.

To obtain a realistic understanding of the financials and the operations of various stakeholders, TRAI had prepared the formats for collecting information from various stakeholders such as broadcasters, aggregators (ie authorized distributors of the broadcasters), DTH operators, multi system operators, cable operators and consumer advocacy groups.

Initially, TRAI had requested all the stakeholders to submit the required information in prescribed format by August 28, 2009.
