PUDUCHERRY: The Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) today launched the Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) service to broadband customers here.

Unveiling the service, BSNL Puducherry General Manager Marshal Antony Leo said the IPTV service would be available to the BSNL broadband customers under the brand name ‘MyWay.’ He said IPTV provides high quality multi-channel television and streamed/downloadable video, all delivered through the web’s IP protocols and displayed on the TV set of the customer.

“IPTV is convergence of voice, data and video. We can watch live television channels, games on demand, internet, voice calls through BSNL broadband connection,” he added.

As promotional offer, IPTV services were being offered free to BSNL broadband customers of Puducherry, for three months. The customers can watch T20 games on ESPN, Star Cricket and Star Sports channels available free of cost till June 30 this year.

Customers can dial 1500 or SMS ‘Myay” to 56767 for booking IPTV connections, he said adding the customers could choose different packages and the tariff would depend on the number of channels availed by the customer.

Leo said BSNL Puducherry had introducred Blackberry Internet Service (BIS) and Blackberry Enterprise Solutions (BES) services in the mobile segment.
