Source: The Hindu Business Line New Delhi, June 29 The Government is proposing to increase foreign direct investment in Direct-to-Home (DTH) to 74 per cent, and up to 24 per cent in FM Radio. A draft note has been circulated for consideration of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs. Govt looks to raise FDI cap in FM channels, DTH service providers

Source: The Economic Times The government is planning to raise foreign direct investment (FDI) limit in FM radio broadcasters and direct-to-home TV service providers. But several departments, including the Planning Commission, have expressed reservations. The Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has proposed that FDI ceiling for FM broadcasters be raised to 24% from the current 20%, and to 74% from the existing cap of 49% in the case of DTH service providers.
