Source: The Economic Times NEW DELHI: Consumer durable maker Videocon plans to launch its direct-to-home (DTH) television services venture in April 2009 against its original target of September 2008, said a top Videocon executive. As of now five companies are offering DTH services in the country including Dish TV, Tata Sky, Airtel, Big TV and Sun TV. Videocon Industries, the flagship group company of the Dhoot family, would be launching the DTH service through its subsidiary Bharat Business. Source: Indopia Mumbai, Feb 26 Tata Group-owned Direct-to-Home (DTH) service provider Tata Sky today said that it will not pass on the reduced service tax benefit to its customers as it did not levy it separately. “From day one, Tata Sky has been offering all its packages inclusive of all taxes and do not charge these separately. Hence there won&apost be any implication on our pricing,” Tata Sky Managing Director and CEO Vikram Kaushik said in a statement here. Source: The Economic Times Essel group’s direct-to-home (DTH) services company Dish TV on Thursday said it will pass on the benefit of the reduced sales tax to its consumers. In the past DTH companies had indicated that they might not be able to pass on the service tax benefits to the consumers since they already provide the products at a subsidised price.
