Navid Rashid, deputy vice-president, Dish TV India, says that the DTH major is going to increase the existing number of shops from 800 to 2,000 by the end of this fiscal.
“We are making franchisees across the country to reduce the turn around time from 24 hours to 6 hours for installation and make after-sale service available at a phone call. We are planning to start service centres to resolve service-related problems of our existing and new customers. Our latest Rs 2,490 scheme has gone down well with our subscribers, posting a 50% increment in the existing subscription base.” Rashid said.
Dish TV’s current subscriber base is pegged at 3 million. The company believes its subscriber base will touch 5 million in the next two years.
“We enjoy a market share of 54% and with new interactive services like active astro service with vedic astrologer Pandit Ajai Bhambi, the numbers are bound to swell. We have also tied up with shaadi.com to launch an interactive matrimonial service, Shaadi Active, for our subscribers.” Rashid says.
“This soon-to-be launched service will enable Dish TV subscribers to select from shaadi.com’s vast profile base with different parameters available for search such as age, community, caste, profession etc. Accordingly the relevant profiles will be displayed on the TV screen,” Rashid said.
