New Delhi: The television programme service provider promoted by the Sun TV founder Kalanidhi Maran, Sun Direct TV Pvt. Ltd is expected to lose Rs200 crore every year for the first two years of operations despite having some 500,000 subscribers in its first six months of operations, due to low monthly fees. Dish TV to launch PVR next month

The Essel group owned Dish TV is set to launch Personal Video Recorder (PVR) next month. Dish TV managing director, Jawahar Goel confirmed the same to FE. “Our PVR is ready for commercial launch. We will start offering the service in July,” he said. On being queried on the pricing of the product, Goel said the company is yet to finalise on that aspect. The direct-to-home (DTH) service providers are all set to join the league of large spenders on advertising and promotions by crossing the Rs 1,000-crore mark this fiscal. Delhi HC sends back Tata Sky-ESPN case to Tdsat

MUMBAI: The Delhi High Court has sent back the ongoing legal battle between direct-to-home service provider Tata Sky and ESPN Software India Private Ltd (ESIPL) to Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (Tdsat). The High Court has also dismissed the Tata Sky injunction application filed against ESIPL. In its application Tata Sky said that ESIPL had withdrawn the reference interconnect offer (RIO) dated 15 May 2008, and has not filed a fresh one; so it should be discharged from complying with their undertaking.
